Announcing Keeping Count by M. Travis Lane

Gordon Hill Press is pleased to announce Keeping Count, a collection of poetry by M. Travis Lane, to be published in Fall 2020.

Keeping Count combines acute observation of the natural world, precise command of myth, and an occasionally playful technique to offer perceptive and moving poems. Even with almost twenty volumes of poetry already to her name, Lane’s verse endures without diminishment, deepening familiar themes of nature, faith, art, and aging that have marked her work over the years. This is a book of clear-sighted wisdom, the kind of writing that keeps Lane's place among the most important voices in Canadian poetry, but also moves her forward as a poet of intensifying lyric power. Lane shows us how we might live while keeping an eye on how we will die.

M. Travis Lane is one of Canada's most distinguished writers. She has published nineteen books of poetry and two of prose. She has received numerous awards for her writing, including the Pat Lowther Memorial Award, the Alden Nowlan Award for Excellence in Literary Arts, and the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for High Achievement in Literary Arts. She was also shortlisted for the Governor General's Award for Poetry in 2015.
